Our academic community gathered within our events center of CT State Housatonic for a momentous occasion as we celebrated the formal commencement of the academic year. Leading us through this inspiring event was our Interim CEO, Dr. Manuel Gomez, who continued the tradition of uplifting our students and extending a warm welcome to new and familiar faces on our campus.

On July 27, a remarkable event unfolded as young minds from our Advanced Manufacturing Camp donned their graduation caps! This particular camp, dedicated to fostering skills in advanced manufacturing, witnessed the culmination of hard work and determination from these bright students.

On Thursday, May 25,in addition to awarding well-earned associate degrees to its hardworking graduates, Housatonic Community College (HCC) will recognize six outstanding community leaders with honorary Associate Science degrees at the college’s 56th commencement ceremony.

Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) President Terrence Cheng today announced that he is appointing Dr. Dwayne Smith, who has served as CEO of Housatonic Community College since 2020, as interim president of Southern Connecticut State University. Smith, who previously served as interim president of Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri, following his 13-year stint as that institution’s provost, has an extensive academic background at the university level.

The Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA), home to one of the premier college art collections in the country, is proud to announce an exciting new Spring Artist Speaker Series. The events present rising artists and distinguished arts professionals sure to arouse thought-provoking discussion and artistic inspiration.

The Werth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Housatonic Community College (HCC) announces their Spring Entrepreneurship Speaker Series.  Over breakfast, HCC scholars will learn from seasoned entrepreneurs as they share their successes and pitfalls in launching their business ventures.

The Housatonic Community College Foundation announced today that it has received a $10,000 grant from KeyBank Foundation to respond to the economic security needs of students. For the fifth year in a row, KeyBank will support the college’s Family Economic Security Program (FESP).
