Housatonic Museum of Art, located on the Housatonic Community College campus in Bridgeport, CT, proudly presents its newest exhibition, June Ahrens: Reflecting Time. A free, opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 8 from 5:30 to 7pm. The exhibit will be on view through October 22, 2022.

The Werth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Housatonic Community College (HCC) competed its first semester after its launch this past year. It is the only entrepreneurship center of its kind at a Connecticut community college.

Each year refugees seek safety in our country, often arriving with nothing more than a suitcase, and struggling with our language. That’s why the Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee (IRRC), Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), Housatonic Community College (HCC) and its Foundation banded together to help develop the English communication skills of an Afghan family fleeing the Taliban.

Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) Director Robbin Zella announced that she will retire at the end of June. Ms. Zella has held the role of director of the museum, located on the Housatonic Community College (HCC) campus in Bridgeport, since 1998. A retirement luncheon was held and a scholarship to the college was created in her name.

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County CEO Carolyn Vermont will receive an honorary Associate’s Degree from Housatonic Community College (HCC) at its 55th Commencement on May 26.

Housatonic Community College (HCC) hosted a Careers in Manufacturing Expo 2022 on May 4, connecting 28 manufacturing firms from Connecticut with those interested in the field and prospective employees.

Alexandros Valiantis has a long history with Housatonic Community College and the Bridgeport area. Alexandros is a first generation American of Ecuadorean and Cypriot heritage born and raised in Queens, New York where Alexandros parents met then raised a family before relocating to Connecticut in 2002. Alexandros recalls exploring the city of Bridgeport after school post moving to Connecticut with his parents who were both in real estate and would bring their kids along for showings all around the city.

On Wednesday, May 4, Housatonic Community College (HCC) invites job seekers to Careers In Manufacturing Expo 2022. The free event is an opportunity to discover in-demand manufacturing positions, learn about the industry, meet employers, and explore the HCC advanced manufacturing technology center. Refreshments provided, including caterng from Taco Loco’s taco truck.

The Housatonic Community College Foundation (HCCF) announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Willie McBride, Jr. and Ramon Peralta. These appointments bring the total number of current HCCF Board members to eighteen.
