FREE Friday Night Flick: “Nothing Changes: Art for Hank’s Sake”
On Friday, October 9th the Housatonic Museum of Art presents the latest film in their FREE Friday Night Flicks online film series: “Nothing Changes: Art for Hank’s Sake.” The documentary chronicles the daily life of Hank Virgona, an 87-year-old artist in New York City who is grappling with aging, change, and capturing the real faces of New York City life.

New HMA Exhibit Now Open: Masters of Op Art
An exhibition of artwork by the founders of the Op Art movement is now on view at the Housatonic Museum of Art. The exhibit, entitled “Masters of Op Art,” features 13 dynamic pieces that are each an optical experience of color and form.

Then, “A Story In Stone” centers on the studio of Bridgeport artist and printmaker James Reed and his master work with stone lithography. Housatonic Museum of Art Awarded Inspire! Grant From The Institute of Museum Studies For Collections Care
The Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) is proud to announce that it recently received a $9,399 Inspire! Grant for Small Museums from The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The grant will allow HMA to implement a collections stewardship project that will increase storage space for acquisitions and ensure proper care and preservation of its collections.
