The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County’s (CAFC) honored founder and professor Burt Chernow this week at CAFC’s annual Arts and Culture Empowerment Awards breakfast.

With another noreaster hitting this week, and just in time for spring, curator D. Dominick Lombardi will provide a gallery talk of a nature-inspired exhibition currently on view at the Housatonic Museum of Art.

Grace Akallo was only 15 years old when she was abducted from her school by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and forced into a life as a child soldier. As part of the initiation into the army, Akallo was raped, tortured and forced to kill. After being held by the LRA for seven months, unsure if she would be killed, Akallo escaped.
