Housatonic Community College and St. Vincent’s College Offer Associate Degree Program

The competition is sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Foundation and took place at the University of Bridgeport. Competition presenters are limited to 60 seconds maximum to make their “pitch” or oral sales talk. No audiovisual aids are permitted.

Opioid addiction, especially from opioids in prescribed pain relievers has soared in the U.S. reaching over 2.1 million persons according to recent data. On Thursday, Nov. 17, from noon to 2 p.m. in the HCC Beacon Hall Events Center, a distinguished panel will discuss the past, present, and future impact of opioid use.

The Connecticut Association for the Gifted(CAG) and the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at Housatonic Community College (HCC) are partnering to host the popular Minds In Motion™ workshop series. The event will be held at HCC on Saturday, December 3 from 12-4pm.

Mahdi Saeikhalili, an international HCC student, has won 2nd place in the finals of the Connecticut Skills Challenge organized by the Conn. Technology Council.

HCC President Dr. Paul Broadie has announced that Dr. Michael B. Brown has been appointed Academic Dean of the college.

Students at HCC have many unique opportunities available to them beyond the array of college programs. Many support services including different types of tutoring for specific courses as well as counseling to help students succeed in their courses. Career counselors assist students to choose the right courses and programs to meet their career goals. Career counselors also help students with internships while at HCC as well as career assistance upon graduation.

The annual Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC) Walk-to-Wellness Challenge is now underway.

On Friday, Oct. 21, educators in K – 12 grades have the opportunity to experience workshops and talks by experts focused on developing and energizing creativity in education.
