Housatonic Museum of Art is pleased to present its newest exhibition, Of Woman Born, now on view through June 1, 2022. It features a selection of paintings, photographs and sculpture that explores the ways in which male dominance has manifested itself in familial, social, legal, political, religious and economic systems—patriarchal structures that, over the centuries, have continually been used to dominate, oppress and exploit women.

The Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) today announced a landmark gift of $500,000 from the Werth Family Foundation. The donation represents the largest contribution from a single donor in the history of the museum to date and will establish an endowment.

A conversation with John Favret

Professor John Favret credits a Certificate in Computer Graphics from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with opening ‘all doors in life’. Prior to that certificate, John had earned a BA from Bridgewater State College and an MFA from East Texas State University, and worked at Sears in retail displays and management.

Housatonic Community College (HCC) held its 21st annual Sidewalk Art Festival yesterday. The event, originally planned to be held outdoors in the college’s downtown Bridgeport campus courtyard, included students, music and creativity.

To celebrate the intersection of art and technology, the Housatonic Museum of Art will present the award-winning films ‘Lost & Found’ and ‘Two Balloons’, as well as several films about the making of stop motion animation movies.
