(Bridgeport, CT) December 7, 2018 – Students planning to continue their education after they complete an associate degree at Housatonic Community College (HCC) now have the convenience of enrolling in advanced classes that will be offered at the Bridgeport campus.
Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) will offer three courses at HCC that will satisfy SCSU bachelor’s degree requirements. The courses will be delivered by SCSU faculty.
Students enrolled in a TAP (Transfer Ticket) or transferable degree program are eligible to enroll in up to two designated and approved SCSU courses, in addition to their existing course load at HCC. Students will receive a full SCSU grant equivalent to the cost of the tuition and fees associated with the approved list of courses, reducing the financial impact while continuing their associate degree program requirements.
A SCSU advisor will contact students three to five days after they have applied to discuss details of the program, verify eligibility, discuss course selection, and complete registration. The SCSU advisor will require a copy of a student’s Degree Works evaluation or a copy of an unofficial transcript to verify eligibility and pre-requisite completion.
Courses offered for spring 2019 include:
- EDU 200 – Teachers, Schools, and Society
- PCH 202 – Introduction to Public Health
- PSY 318 – Emotional and Social Development
