Students who completed the Freshman Seminar Course (FS100) at HCC were awarded honorary citations Monday at the Bridgeport Board of Education Meeting. The FS100 class, or Freshman seminar, is a three-credit course designed to introduce students to diverse academic content and learning strategies for career success and self-evaluation.

Several students from Harding High School in Bridgeport accepted the award Monday night, having completed the course over the summer. Not present were the 23 students currently enrolled in the class, also from Harding.

“This is the first step to a great future.” Remarked I-3 Grant Project Director, Bill Morton. Through a partnership with the HCC Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center, Morton works to create and expand dual-enrollment opportunities for high school students. “We want to recognize the hard work and continued success of these students.” Morton said.
