BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 9, 2018) - Housatonic Community College (HCC) is hosting several upcoming events aimed to shorten the application and enrollment process for students.
The first of several new Fast-Track Friday events is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on November 16 in the Lafayette Hall Student Services Center. Prospective students can meet with admissions, receive advising, learn about financial aid, complete testing, and register for classes all in one day. Similar events are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 14, 28 and January 11.
Fast-Track Friday events are planned to expedite the enrollment process for the upcoming winter and spring classes. Winter session begins on December 26 and the spring semester begins January 24.
The events are coordinated to provide convenience by bringing together the services that students need to register for classes and accomplish everything in one day. Earl A. Graham, HCC director of admissions, said that the enrollment staff saw a need for this type of service on Fridays. Just prior to the weekend, many new and returning students seek help with planning and making multiple trips to campus isn’t always feasible.
On each of the Fridays, students will be able to complete the ACCUPLACER assessment in reading, writing and math until 12:30 p.m. Students who have previously completed college math and English, or those who have qualifying ACT or SAT scores, may not need to take an ACCUPLACER test.
