Whether you’re looking for personal growth, career development, or an opportunity to quickly begin a whole new path, Housatonic Community College (HCC) is offering a wide range of engaging continuing education courses this fall for students of all ages.

More than 40 courses are currently offered in the fields of Business, Computer Information Technology, Healthcare, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Public Safety, Health & Fitness, Personal Enrichment and English as a Second Language. The classes are designed as low cost, high-quality programs, taught by experienced instructors.

“We are passionate about student success, and these programs offer another avenue for learning, often providing training for an entirely new career in just a matter of months,” said Paul Broadie, President of Housatonic Community College.

Jennifer Freischlag, a student in HCC’s Ophthalmic Assistant program, did just that. With just two classes and some initial work experience, she was permitted to take the certification exam, providing her entry into a new lucrative career as part of an eye-care team.

“This was the best education I’ve ever received,” said Freischlag. “I’ve gained so many skills that will benefit my career and help many patients with their needs. After updating my resume, two companies found me and were interested in me.”

“Our professional training, certification and licensure programs not only enhance skills and expand job opportunities, they also support our region’s economic development,” said President Broadie.

Most classes begin the first week in September, and registration is going on now. No Visa, citizenship, or proof of state residency are required. To learn more, visit https://www.housatonic.edu/continuing-professional-education or email
