Summer may still be in full swing, but ambitious students enjoyed a day of academic celebration on the Housatonic Community College (HCC) campus yesterday. Over 350 incoming students and their supporters packed the Beacon Hall Events Center at the college’s New Student Orientation. The incoming student requirement provided scholars with the opportunity to become familiar with school resources and make connections with other students, faculty and staff before beginning classes later this month.
Additionally, 120 rising high school seniors and their parents visited the college as they considered attending HCC next year. An informative session and a festive campus-wide BBQ was enjoyed by all.
“Our incoming students built a foundation for college success today,” said Paul Broadie, President of Housatonic Community College. “It is thrilling to see this engagement, and to welcome prospective students and their families to our campus.”
Registration is going on now and classes begin on August 27th. HCC will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday August 24 for Registration Saturday to assist students interested in registering for fall 2019 classes. Students may also contact HCC's Registrar office at (203) 332-5088 to register, or stop by in person in Lafayette Hall, L-113. Housatonic Community College is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport, CT.
