On Thursday, September 23, Housatonic Community College (HCC) marked the beginning of the academic school year with its first-ever Convocation and Rite of Passage Ceremony. The gathering, which took place on the college’s downtown Bridgeport campus courtyard, allowed students to affirm their commitment to their educational journeys.

Werth Jr. It is the largest gift from an individual in school history, and will establish the Werth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center.

This grant marks a first of its kind for AAUW, which until this time only supported students directly.

The Housatonic Community College (HCC) Foundation received a $30,000 contribution from KeyBank Foundation, the charitable nonprofit foundation of KeyBank, to support the College’s Family Economic Security Program (FESP). The grant, which spans a three-year period, will support the nearly 400 students already enrolled in the program.
