Reserve Free Tickets To Housatonic Museum of Art
With one of the most extensive community college collections in the country, the Housatonic Museum of Art is asking the public to now reserve their free tickets in advance of visiting. Visit https://museum.housatonic.edu/visit to sign up.
Located at Housatonic Community College at 900 Lafayette Street in Bridgeport, the museum’s collection offers visitors the opportunity to view works that span the history of art. Visitors will enjoy works from the ancient to the contemporary placed throughout the 300,000 square foot campus.,/p>
Highlights of the collection include works by Allan D’Arcangelo, Alex Katz, Henry Pearson, Sylvia Stone, Larry Zox, Elaine De Kooning, as well as the arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas, and renowned contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Jenny Holzer and Felix Gonzalez-Torres, to name a few.
The museum is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Thursday evening until 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The museum’s holiday schedule, which spans December 12 – January 30, 2922, will have the permanent collection on view, however the Burt Chernow Galleries will be closed. The museum will be closed from December 24 – January 1, 2022.
