Students at HCC have many unique opportunities available to them beyond the array of college programs. Many support services including different types of tutoring for specific courses as well as counseling to help students succeed in their courses. Career counselors assist students to choose the right courses and programs to meet their career goals. Career counselors also help students with internships while at HCC as well as career assistance upon graduation.

On October 26th, former head baseball and athletic coach at Housatonic Community College, Ed Sylvia, will be inducted into the Diamond Club Hall of Fame for his contributions to baseball in the state.

October 7 & 8, HCC’s PTK - Chi Rho Chapter attended a Fall New England Regional ‘Honors in Action’ Conference at Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester, Massachusetts. 4 Chapter Officers, 1 Chapter Officer Alumni, and 2 Advisors attended the event.

Housatonic Community College alumna, Tiffany Teixeira, was crowned Miss Connecticut 2016 earlier this year.

HCC has received a grant from the Connecticut Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program which enables the college to establish a college-wide program in Financial Literacy.

The HCC Early Childhood Inclusive Education (ECIE) program is unique in its connections with the local and global early childhood community.
