The Art Department of Housatonic Community College in collaboration with the Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) is participating in Draw On! a five day art event March 23 - 27, 2015

Housatonic Museum of Art will host a benefit stand-up comedy show starring the Lovable Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli, on Saturday, May 16, at 8 p.m. in the Events Center in Beacon Hall. The show will follow a VIP champagne reception and special exhibition of artwork by Leonard Lampugnale, Lisa’s father and an alumnus of Housatonic Community College, in the Burt Chernow Galleries at 6 p.m.

The Women Gather at Housatonic Museum of Art is hosted free of charge. These public readings by emerging and established poets is organized by Shanna T. Melton and sponsored by the Housatonic Museum of Art. The series highlights the poetry of women and encourages writers from different aesthetic disciplines and traditions in order to broaden our community’s understanding of contemporary poetry.

The Housatonic Museum of Art presents Rick Shaefer: Drawing the Line! on view in the Burt Chernow Galleries, 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport, from Feb. 12-March 27, with a reception open to the public on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 5:30-7 p.m. The Burt Chernow Galleries are free and open seven days a week. The Art Department of Housatonic Community College in collaboration with the Housatonic Museum of Art presented renowned pastel artist, Clayton Buchanan on Monday, March 31.

Uncasville artist and Housatonic Community College art professor John Favret will have his work featured at The Watermark at 3030 Park from April 16 through June 25.

Artists can explore, reflect, extrapolate or rearrange in any number of ways, the barrage of endless data from hard news to social media that we all must navigate, initiate or muddle through each day.

This exhibit will be on view in the Burt Chernow Galleries, 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport, CT., runs from June 11  with a reception from 5 pm - 7 pm through July 24, 2015. The Burt Chernow Galleries are free and open to the public, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Thursday evening until 7 p.m. The galleries are closed Saturday and Sunday in Summer.

The Housatonic Museum of Art presents Anna Held Audette: Requiem for the Industrial Age, on view in the Burt Chernow Galleries, 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport, Connecticut, from June 12 – July 25, 2014 with a reception open to the public on Thursday, June 12th from 5 – 7 pm. 

Twenty-eight of Mia Brownell’s paintings will be on display at the Housatonic Museum of Art in the Burt Chernow Galleries from September 25th thought November 17, 2014.

The course will introduce handling principles and exercises and then adapt them to recovery techniques after water events, severe weather, and man-made incidents.
