Celebrate Women’s History Month with a Remarkable Online Documentary Series
Housatonic Museum of Art is celebrating Women’s History Month with a collection of enlightening online documentary films that explore the messages women receive, the pressures they face, and those fighting for women’s rights in America. The FREE films, organized by Connecticut Film Festival, will run from Sunday, March 21 through Thursday, March 25. Adapting and Achieving: HCC Student Media in the Time of COVID
Think of an octopus – one central mass with eight arms that think and act independently; its movements a brilliantly choreographed dance. When presented with a challenge, the dance doesn’t falter; the movements merely adjust. That scenario depicts the operations of the team that created the spring 2021 issue of Horizons magazine.

Congressman Himes Tours HCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center

Photography Project Documents Bridgeport During COVID and Earns Place In Prestigious Social Documentary Network
Last spring, when COVID-19 struck our area, two intrepid Housatonic Community College (HCC) photography students set out to document the city of Bridgeport. Their work provides an unsettling and authentic look at how Connecticut’s largest city appeared during that shutdown period, earning them a coveted exhibit on the Social Documentary Network.

Jongil Ma Is Drawing In Space at the Housatonic Museum of Art
A new, dynamic interlacing sculpture by South Korean artist, Jongil Ma floats above the entrance to the Burt Chernow Galleries. The major piece, presented by the Housatonic Museum of Art, is an intricate arrangement of stained wood, offering a lesson in balance and flow.
