Mario Pierce Appointed Associate Dean of Campus Operations

We welcome Mr. Mario Pierce who joins the HCC community as Associate Dean of Campus Operations beginning August 10. Mr. Pierce will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day campus operations and providing leadership, general direction, and administration of the campus’ facilities, maintenance and custodial services, financial support services, information technology services, emergency preparedness, and auxiliary services (e.g. campus security, campus bookstore, food services), as well as assisting the Chief Executive Officer in managing the overall budget and serves as a liaison with appropriate local, State, and College officials.

With over 20 years of experience, he served as Senior Director of Space Management & Technical Services, Office of Facilities at University of New Haven where successfully implemented technology utilized in the development of strategic programs and initiatives while working closely with leadership to support the overall strategic plan.

Mario currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology as well as two Master’s Degrees, one in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and the other in Occupational Health & Safety Management. He is also a certified Professional Maintenance Manager through the Association of Facilities Engineers and possesses a Green Professional Building Certification in Operations & Maintenance Essentials. He has nearly 15 years of Director-level administrative experience in higher education which includes experience developing safety initiatives and managing emergency/crisis situations. During his 15-year tenure at the University of New Haven, he was able to successfully implement technology utilized in the development of strategic programs and initiatives while working closely with leadership to support the overall strategic plan.
