Connecticut’s community college system, was ranked No. 1 in the nation by WalletHub this week, and several of the community colleges ranked among the top 15 in the country in the financial website’s reports on community colleges and state-by-state community college system rankings.

Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA), located on the Housatonic Community College campus in downtown Bridgeport, is proud to announce that it recently received a $40,824 Inspire! Grant for Small Museums from The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Connecticut State Community College President John Maduko, M.D., joined Congressman Jim Himes today at Housatonic Community College to announce a $1.3 million award from the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).

Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) Director Robbin Zella announced that she will retire at the end of June. Ms. Zella has held the role of director of the museum, located on the Housatonic Community College (HCC) campus in Bridgeport, since 1998. A retirement luncheon was held and a scholarship to the college was created in her name.

Each year refugees seek safety in our country, often arriving with nothing more than a suitcase, and struggling with our language. That’s why the Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee (IRRC), Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), Housatonic Community College (HCC) and its Foundation banded together to help develop the English communication skills of an Afghan family fleeing the Taliban.

The Housatonic Museum of Art presents Vincent Baldassano: To Be Continued. Curated by Joel Leneker, the installation is comprised of new works on cloth and iconic works from the 1970s through 2022.
