Adapting and Achieving: HCC Student Media in the Time of COVID
Think of an octopus – one central mass with eight arms that think and act independently; its movements a brilliantly choreographed dance. When presented with a challenge, the dance doesn’t falter; the movements merely adjust. That scenario depicts the operations of the team that created the spring 2021 issue of Horizons magazine.

Housatonic Community College Foundation Participates in Fairfield County’s Giving Day
With community college students disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, the decision to participate in Fairfield’s County Giving Day has never been more important for the Housatonic Community College Foundation. The organization, which supports low-income Housatonic Community College (HCC) students in need, will join the collective giving event taking place on Thursday, February 25th.

Congressman Himes Tours HCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center
Congressman Jim Himes visited Housatonic Community College (HCC) on Tuesday, February 16 to gain firsthand knowledge of the college’s Advanced Manufacturing training program. The nine-month certificate program provides students with the cutting-edge manufacturing skills needed to enter Connecticut’s in-demand jobs in the industry.

Area Community Colleges Team Up To Celebrate Black History Month

Two colleges of the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities Shoreline-West region, Gateway Community College (GCC) and Housatonic Community College (HCC), are collaborating on an upcoming virtual panel honoring diversity, equity and inclusion.

Photography Project Documents Bridgeport During COVID and Earns Place In Prestigious Social Documentary Network
Last spring, when COVID-19 struck our area, two intrepid Housatonic Community College (HCC) photography students set out to document the city of Bridgeport. Their work provides an unsettling and authentic look at how Connecticut’s largest city appeared during that shutdown period, earning them a coveted exhibit on the Social Documentary Network.

Housatonic Community College Signs Agreement with The Child & Family Guidance Center
Housatonic Community College (HCC) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with The Child & Family Guidance Center (CFGC). With social distancing and a virtual audience, an agreement was signed yesterday at the college formalizing the partnership that will facilitate educational opportunities for at-risk youth and their families.
