The Werth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Housatonic Community College (HCC) announces their Spring Entrepreneurship Speaker Series.  Over breakfast, HCC scholars will learn from seasoned entrepreneurs as they share their successes and pitfalls in launching their business ventures.

CT State Community College (CT State) announced that it will hire seven additional mental health and wellness counselors and develop new programs as part of a plan to provide greater access to on-site counseling and wellness services at its 12 community colleges.

Connecticut native Christopher Chute is now Connecticut State Community College’s inaugural chief of police following a public swearing-in ceremony today at Naugatuck Valley Community College.  

The event included students, faculty and staff from Connecticut State Community College’s (CT State) 12 community colleges, Chute’s family, and police and municipal leaders from throughout Connecticut. Chute’s appointment, which was approved by the Board of Regents for Higher Education, is effective immediately.  

Credit registration for the Spring 2023 semester is in progress at Connecticut’s 12 community colleges.  

Credit classes start on January 20 with a mix of on-campus, online, and hybrid course options.  

The Housatonic Community College Foundation announced today that it has received a $10,000 grant from KeyBank Foundation to respond to the economic security needs of students. For the fifth year in a row, KeyBank will support the college’s Family Economic Security Program (FESP).

Housatonic Community College (HCC) honored the 10th anniversary of its state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMTC) program with a celebratory event and fundraiser. The AMTC began in 2012 with a cohort of 20 students and since has had more than 400 students graduate from the program. Nearly 100 percent of the program’s graduates have obtained a career in the industry.

The Housatonic Community College Foundation (HCCF) announced today that Patriot Bank has awarded a $15,000 grant to support student scholarships. The Patriot Bank Scholarship Award will aid students with proven academic performance and demonstrated financial need as they strive to reach their educational goals.

Connecticut State Community College (CT State) has announced the launch of free statewide small business and startup seminars designed to help bring education, training, and mentorship to businesses that are navigating the post-COVID environment.

A huge crowd turned out to attend Connecticut Manufacturing Day on October 7 in Bridgeport, showing signs that the state’s thriving manufacturing industry is in strong demand.  Over 500 attendees and 50 exhibitors participated in the event, which took place on National Manufacturing Day.
