HCC to Host Chinese Instructors for Development Program

In 2016, Housatonic Community College (HCC) began a partnership with several two and three-year colleges in China that has culminated in workforce summits, international campus tours and an upcoming professional development exchange.

The upcoming development exchange, which runs from March 26 – May 25 will focus on curriculum discussions on specific business, 3-D and engineering courses between HCC faculty and Chinese business and engineering professors. The teaching consortium will spend time in different classes and will include visits to businesses and schools within the tristate area.

“This is another meaningful step in the partnership between HCC and its contemporary schools in China.” Said China Project Liaison Bill Griffin. “This upcoming initiative will actually set the stage for more opportunities between us including a pathway program for Chinese students to attend our community colleges and then transfer to a four-year program. In 2019 our students may have the opportunity to travel to China over spring break.”

A full presentation on the program will be held on March 20th at 12:30 in the Beacon Hall Events Center. For more information contact Bill Griffin at 203-332-5056
