WEST HARTFORD – Thursday, September 24, 2015—BlumShapiro, the largest regional accounting and business advisory firm based in New England, today announced the two winners of the American Manufacturing Hall of Fame Leadership Awards for 2015. The winners are two presidents of Bridgeport manufacturing businesses—Kris Lorch of Alloy Manufacturing in Bridgeport and Kathy Saint of Schwerdtle Stamp Co. Inc.
For many, the road to lifetime achievement included study at Housatonic Community College. The College and the Foundation of Housatonic Community College will recognize alumni who have achieved outstanding success and impacted their community.
Some 668 students, members of the largest class in Housatonic Community College history, were awarded associate degrees and certificates Thursday night (5/30) at the college’s 47th commencement.
Housatonic Community College graduate and Bridgeport resident Ryan Lee knows the proverbial “the road less traveled by.”
About 400 area high school students attended a manufacturing expo Friday, May 9, at Housatonic Community College.
On April 28, 2014, the Housatonic Community College Early Childhood Inclusive Education department hosted an interactive symposium, titled, “Food for Thought.” Funding for the program was provided by Connecticut Campus Compact.
Broken Promises, a play by Housatonic Community College student and New Haven native Tammie V. Smith, was staged Saturday, March 29 at Hillhouse High School.
HCC’s Healthy Living Club recently offered some garden plots to their members for free. The community gardens are by the Bridgeport Public Library and is modeled after First Lady Michelle Obama's White House garden.
